Mount Washington - an urban oasis within the greater Los Angeles metropolis

We have a very exciting meeting scheduled this Monday, September 8th at the Carlin G. Smith Recreation Center beginning promptly at 7 PM, culminating with the recognition of our outgoing County Supervisor Gloria Molina and her contributions to our quality of life in Mount Washington, including the acquisition of Elyria Canyon Park which was preserved twenty years ago. Our program "Promoting Creativity and Artistry in our Schools and Neighborhoods" will follow entertainment by the Flute Club from the Mount Washington Elementary School and delicious pizza. Please join us for a rousing panel discussion with local educators and supporters of the arts, and learn what our school is doing to promote the development of creativity for future generations.

About the MWHA

The Mount Washington Homeowners Alliance ("MWHA") is a voluntary homeowners association that seeks to protect, enhance, and improve the quality of life in Mount Washington and to support its partner communities of Glassell Park, Highland Park, Cypress Park and Sycamore Terrace. While voting membership in the Alliance is reserved to homeowners within the Mount Washington boundaries, other community residents are also encouraged to join in order to keep aware of community activities and participate in Alliance projects.

The MWHA is committed to responsible development of the hillsides, in accordance with the Mount Washington/Glassell Park Specific Plan of the City of Los Angeles, development that preserves the unique architecture and community life of the neighborhood while also preserving high quality natural habitat and open space. If you are a homeowner or resident on Mount Washington, won't you please join us?
